Avery returned with Ohola, who had done wonderfully in his exercises today. She truly felt that the stallion was making progress with being her friend, and he seemed to have a good amount of trust instilled in her, which had been her total goal. Letting him into his stall, she set another peppermint on top of his feed, carefully placing a blanket across his back. That was all she was doing today with the stallions, since she needed to feed the mares and geldings, and head back home and warm up, it was freezing outside. Waving to the stallions, she headed out.

Regan found Apawis stall fairly quickly. Glancing in, she was in awe of the stunning creature. He was lying down snoozing, not wanting to startle him, she opened the door slowly and quietly. Pricking his ears, he got to his feet and shook off the shavings stuck to his coat. Licking his lips, he walked towards her. Regan gave him an apple treat and whispered, “well you sure are a pretty thing now aren’t you!” . Exiting his stall Regan fetched his halter and lead then whet back into his stall to groom him out a bit. About 5minutes later, they made their way out of the barn and towards the round pen.

Regan lead Apawi back to his stall, wanting to spend a bit more time with him since their round pen work took less time than the others thus far, she decided to put him in the cross ties and spend a bit of time on grooming and some ground manners. Clipping the cross ties to his halter, Regan went and gathered her grooming supplies. She brushed him out then checked his feet and brushed his mane and tail. By the time Regan was done with the grooming, Apawi’s nose was nearly touching the ground and his lip was drooping. Giggling, Regan lead the stud back to his stall and checked her list for the next horse needing to be trained.

Regan made her way to Casasa’s stall. Peering in at the blue-eyed beauty, he seemed a bit shy and weary of her as if he did not know if he could trust her. Regan opened the door to his stall and crouched down on the ground, holding an apple treat in her hand slightly extended toward the stud. Shockingly he walked right over and nibbled the treat slowly. Regan though that he would require a bit more convincing but she guessed that he changed his mind about her when he caught the smell of apple treats on her. Pulling her fingers through his mane lightly he reached around to get another treat. Smiling Regan gave in and handed him another one. She haltered him and lead him to the round pen so they could get acquainted.

Regan lead Casas back to the barn and placed him in the cross-ties. She noticed he was a bit stiff in his front right leg, not lame though, so she wanted to do some stretches with him to help with the stiffness. After a thorough grooming, hoof check, and mane & tail brushing, Regan did some stretches with the stiff leg, checking for soreness along the way. After she had completed all of her exercises with him she decided, he was just tight in his muscles and needed some more stretching, and not a lameness, joint, or hoof issue. Regan put him back in his stall after giving him a few apple treats then went on her way to the next horse she needed to train.
