Avery entered to tend to her stallions. She was in awe from their extreme beauty, but wasn't going to work with any of them today, considering she needed to develop a suitable feed schedule for all of them. She simply fed and watered each of them, and mucked out each stallion's stall. That was all they were going to receive today, which she knew that most of them probably wouldn't mind.

Riley walked into the barn and glanced down at her training list. First for saturday was Sota in barrel racing. She sighed and walked down the aisle she spotted the stallion and walked up to the stall. She grabbed his halter and lead rope and opened the stall door. She talked softly to him and slipped the halter over his delicate ears. She clipped the lead rope on and lead him from the stall to the cross-ties. She clipped him in the cross-ties and walked to avery's tack room. She grabbed her oster brushes and walked back down the aisle. She grabbed the curry comb and began to groom the stallion. She switched to the hard brush and flicked the dirt she'd just worked up off his coat. She finished with the soft brush making his winter fur a little nicer. She smiled and returned the brush. She walked down the aisle returning the brushes.
She grabbed the western saddle from the rack and walked down the aisle carrying that, a bridle and a saddle pad. She set evereything down for a second and grabbed the saddle pad. She slipped it onto the horses back and grabbed the saddle. She swung it onto his back and tightened the cinch. She walked to his head and pulled on the headstall. She grabbed the split reins and her helmet and lead him from the barn toward the training arena.

Riley walked in leading the dark bay stallion called sota. They'd just finished an extensive work out in the training arena. She stopped at the crossties and patted his still slightly sweaty neck. She pulled off his bridle replacing it with his halter and clipping the cross ties on. She pulled it over her shoulder and went back to the saddle. She undid the cinch and pulled off the heavy western saddle. She carried them to the tack room. She still had two more horses to ride but they were both mares. She placed everything back where it belonged and grabbed the brushes again. She walked down the aisle to where the stallion stood.
She removed the curry comb and began going over his body the sweat had ried and now just traces of it remained. She loosened up the dried sweat and loose hair and then went back to grab a hard brush. She went over the stallions body getting off most of the dried sweat and dead hair. She then grabbed a soft brush and went over his body getting the rest of the sweat and hair off. She patted his sleek neck then ran her hand down to his chest to feel if he was cool. Nice and cool. She put the brushes back in the tack room and clipped the lead rope back to the stallions halter leading him to his stall and pulling off the halter and leadrope she closed the door locking it behind her. SHe hung up his things and headed off to ride the other two mares.

Avery was practically skipping as she entered the stallion stable, yawning a bit as she checked that all the training was in order, which it was. Ashlyn and Riley were already proving themselves to be fantastic workers, and she was pleased. Benefits were going to be coming their way, and quickly. She got to work on taking care of all of the horses, feeding them, watering them, refreshing their bedding, and giving them each a grooming in the crossties.
Once she'd finished, a stable blanket was clipped over each of them. She ducked under the crosstie stall bar, heading over to see Sota, her personal favorite of the stallions. He nuzzled her, and Avery laughed, giving him a peppermint - and slipping one to Talkeetna, at his request too - as she left.

"Morning, you buttheads," Avery exclaimed, wandering into her stallion barn with a pleased smile on her face. Of course, she received a few glares from the horses occupying the stalls, which earned them a laugh or two from her. They all knew that she loved them with all her heart. Gently kissing Kodiak's muzzle, she entered his stall, haltering him and leading him out. He was fastened to the outside of the stall, and she refreshed his feed, water, and bedding, quickly getting him into the crossties, since he was an impatient boy sometimes.
There, he received a long grooming, which was not rushed at all. He was soothed by the curry comb and soft brush running over his flanks, and she enjoyed giving it to him. Once he was about as clean and nice looking as could be, she led him back to the stall, slipping a stable blanket over him and letting him have his breakfast. She did the same with all of her horses, and, blowing each a kiss, headed to her mare barn. She had quite a lot of work to do today, with new horses coming in to her stable - quite a few, really - and new people moving into Glen Oak, so she had to get things finished up as soon as possible.

Alonzo was fairly new to Glen Oaks. He had just moved there a few days ago. But already he had an apartment, a job, and a horse, or foal really. He was happy here so far, but he did not know much of the town, did not really know what or where anything was. So he'd gotten in his truck and just drove someplace random. Suprisingly enough he'd ended up at Overtime Magic Farms, OMF. He got out of his truck and wandered around for a few minutes, before heading into the stallion barn. As he walked down the aisle, his eyes ran over all the beautiful stallions, but also for the owner of the place. He'd not met many people, so he was sure he had not met her yet. In any case he'd at least introduce himself.

Avery was just exiting a stall with a bucket of feed, practically running into her visitor. She yelped, surprised by his suddenly being there - he hadn't made a sound on his entrance. She sighed, feeling like a total idiot, but really, he would've been startled too if she'd just been there and he'd been working. Worse, she'd been singing to her horses - not that she had a bad voice, it was actually fairly pretty, but the thought of someone hearing her was simply embarrassing.
"Oh, hi. Sorry.." she huffed, brushing her bangs out of her eyes.

Alonzo had been taking a moment to study one of the stallions when suddenly a girl came out of a stall and ran into him. He gasped out of surprise, for he had not known she was there. As she apologized a faint smile appeared on his face. [No, I'm sorry.] His faint smile grew just a tiny bit as he added on [It's your barn.] Suddenly he grew awakward and looked away from the girl. After a few moments his mind came back to him and he felt a little less awkward. Faintly smiling once more he introduced himself. [I'm Alonzo. Alonzo Malone.]

She automatically switched over to her 'try to be polite' mode, extending a hand, hopeful for a friendly shake. "Avery, Avery Johns. Nice to meet you Alonzo," she smiled, her entire face lighting up as she headed over to stand beside him, looking in on the horse he'd been staring at. "I see you like Talkeetna?" she grinned, kissing the stallion's huge muzzle. He snorted, and she simply laughed, leaning against the stall and staring at the horse almost dreamily.

Alonzo smiled and shook her hand as she introduced herself as Avery Johns. She she came to stand next to him, introducing the stallion he had been looking at. Alonzo gazed up at the gorgeous Gypsy Vanner stallion. His eyes swooped over to Avery as she kissed the stallion's muzzle and then leaned against the stall wall. He then glanced back to the stallion and nodded his head, responding to Avery's question, again, a faint smile upon his lips. [Yes, I do. He looks very nice.] Nice in all aspects. Nice in personality, and probably in movement and performance and such. Glancing up and down the aisle at all the stallions he was amazed at how many horses Avery had and that these were only the stallions that she owned.

Of course, the other horses were becoming jealous. She rolled her eyes, laughing as she glanced at his expression for a moment. "We better be seeing the others," she smiled, shaking her head. "We've gotten them all jealous," she smirked, handing him a few pieces of chopped up carrot. "One per horse, though they'll probably charm you out of another one," she rolled her eyes, motioning for him to follow along. Even though most people would've considered her horses a bit unruly, she simply laughed at them whenever they did something, like when Sota shoved her in the arm and she was practically pushed to the entire other side of the stable aisle. She was like a giddy child - this place was obviously her second home. "Having fun?" she asked, a few stalls ahead of him, still beaming.

Alonzo smiled at Avery's words, but did not say anything. He simply took the carrot pieces she gave him and followed her up the aisleway, giving each horse a carrot piece and a pat as he walked past. As Avery called back to him he spoke softly, [Yup.] Finally another stallion caught his eye. A grey gypsy vanner stallion, but his long mane had strands of black caught inbetween the grey hairs. His eyes wandered down to the name plate, which read Mazaska. Alonzo simply watched the stallion for a moment and then patted his broad forehead and fed him a carrot piece.

"Be ca.." she was too late. Mazaska had already nipped Alonzo on the arm, seeing just a bit of blood rise to the surface and soak a patch of his shirt. She was literally growling like some sort of angered cat as she shuffled over, punishing Mazaska with a light hit on his muzzle - definitely not in the intention of hurting him, but to let him know that that was wrong. "I'm so sorry, he's always such a butthead, he's so hard to work with..." a flood of apologies was falling out of her, looking as if she could cry as he grabbed his arm gently, analyzing the damage that Mazaska had done. It wasn't that bad, but it was bleeding.
"Come on, let's go to the tack room, we'll bandage it," she sighed, motioning for him to follow, casting a disappointed look at the grey vanner.

As Avery began to speak Alonzo turned to look at her, but at that very moment Mazaska bit his arm. It wasn't a hard bite, but hard enough to draw a few drops of blood. It didn't bother him at all until Avery came over, her face looking so worried. But even with the worried look on her face he could not help chuckling and shaking his head. [What a goofball.] He said, with another one of his faint smiles. He glanced down to his arm, about to insist it was nothing when Avery took his arm and then told him to come down to the tack room with her. Glancing at her face once more he spoke gently. [Don't worry about it. It's no big deal. I'm used to it.] He'd worked with young and troublesome horses for four or five years, he'd gotten his fair share of injuries and a lot of the time his injuries had been bites. He glanced to Avery. [But if it's going to make you feel better, you're welcome to bandage it.]

She arched an eyebrow, backing up at the speed of light. Obviously, her wanting to help seemed like a little much - she could understand that. It was simply her nature - first of all, blood made her a bit queasy, and second of all, she didn't want his first experience at her stable to be some snotty horse biting his arm. It just wasn't a nice impression. "I'm sorry, they're usually so well mannered..." she left off, a bit of scarlet creeping onto her cheeks as she lowered her head. A hand came to the back of her neck, rubbing it, one of her nervous habits. At his offer for her to bandage it anyway, she shook her head, as if that was the last thing in the world she'd consider.
"No, it's fine, obviously," she sighed, shutting her eyes, revealing only black eyeliner for a moment or two. Finally, they were left in awkward silence, her only offering a forced, strained smile, gently pushing away Kodiak's muzzle as he nudged her arm.

Alonzo felt bad immediatly when he say Avery's reaction. He shifted awkwardly, not sure what to do or say. Rubbing a hand across his brow he sighed gently. He wanted to comfort her, but he wasn't sure exactly what the problem was. The horses, his reaction, that Mazaska had bitten him, he just did not know what the problem was. He honestly did not mind that Mazaska had bitten him, for some odd reason he still seemed pulled to the grey stallion. His eyes dashed to the stallion for a moment, but soon came back to Avery. He shook his head, mad at himself for making her like this. He was sure he had caused it in some way, shape, or form. [Sorry,] he murmured gently, in a general sort of way, as he was still unsure of the problem. [And honestly, it's okay. I don't mind he bit me and my arm is fine.]

She shook her head, managing another forced smile, though it seemed to be a bit more realistic, not like the last one, which had obviously been feinged. She glanced at Mazaska, as if deciding to keep some grudge on the stallion, though that wasn't even close to her true thoughts. She was at a loss, feeling very confused at his reaction, and embarrassed. If you got to know her, you'd eventually figure out that she had a lot of moments like this. It was almost a daily event for her to feel totally awkward about something, and to simply clam up, sinking back into her only safety zone, that being the silence of the stables and the rushing thoughts of her mind.
Right now, she had nothing to say to him, trying to distinguish the emotions skittering across his face. "Alright, as long as you're fine," she nodded, vocal strong enough to probably make him believe that was the main reason for her attitude, which partially, it was. "Eh, I'm...sorry for keeping you so long," she smirked, glancing over at the stable clock. An hour had actually already passed, spending time pampering all of the greedy horses. "I guess I'll let you go.." she sighed, picking up the red bucket sitting at her feet.

Alonzo stood awkwardly as Avery spoke, and for a good part of the time he did not want to look at her, it just felt so awkward. So he kept his eyes on the grey stallion, Mazaska. He didn't know why his gaze kept slipping to that stallion, but he supposed it didn't matter. Finally he pressed his eyes back to Avery and watched as she picked up the red bucket, seeming awkward and almost clammy. He listened as she said she would let him go. For a minute he was confused. Did she want him to go or did she just not know what to say? As he didn't want to leave with such an awkward ending, Alonzo shoved his hands in his pockets and stared at the ground halfway between them. [Umm...do you...need any help with...anything?]

She bit her lip. She'd come up with something, if she couldn't think of a real job for him to do in the next two seconds. She didn't particularly want him to leave, especially not with such a dramatic ending to the whole ordeal. She nodded gently, handing him the bucket ever so lightly. "How about you get fresh water for the stallions, and groom Mazaska down, since you're buddies now?" she joked, giving him a small, truthfully amused smile before sprinting into the tack room, emerging back out with her own bucket. "Follow moi," she grinned, a horrible [ and cheesy ] french accent on her words. "And this is the ah-maa-zing water pump," she gasped, bringing him to the indoor heated pump. She may be pretty awkward sometimes, but she could always lighten up the mood - always.

Alonzo sighed with relief when Avery handed him the red bucket and spoke, telling him what he could do to help. Finally he had said the right thing. He watched her, and followed, as she went down to the tackroom and came out with her own bucket and then down to an indoor water pump. As she spoke, he could not help but allow the faint smile to return to his lips. [Totally ah-maaaa-zing,] he said softly, but was very glad as Avery lightened the mood. [Let me guess,] he said, strangely enough without much emotion. [You pull this up,] he pointed to the handle, [and the water comes out here?] he finished, pointing to the hollow end. He could tell he was not speaking with much emotion or personality, which many people took as he was annoyed or bored or something, so he smiled faintly at the girl.
