Aiden looked at the trailer with a smile. Grabbing his phone quickly, he texted Avery, hoping she would come quickly;;
XX:AVERYYYY, COME TO THE STABLES QUICK EMERGENCY OVERLOAD.
It wasn't really an emergency, but she couldn't possibly know that. He wanted her to see his new horse, Nightshade. He had been saving up, and finally got the gelding. He was a beautiful dark brown, wonderful in comformation, 6 years old, and learned in all diciplines. Aiden, taking a lead rope, stepped into the trailer carefully, murmered a hello to the horse, and clapped the hook onto the lead shank. The horse snorted contendedly, before following Aiden happily. Smiling, Aiden rubbed Nightshade's cheek, feeling the midnight black silky mane. The white stripe on his forehead gleamed against the stable's slightly dim appearance, though the horse himself glowed. Aiden chuckled. Oh, what a wonderful joy he would have riding this gelding.

It wasn't hard to tell when Avery was pulling up into the stable parking lot. The clatter of her jalopy Chevy, the frantic slam of the car door because Aiden had been rude enough to call this an emergency, and the small 'oomph' that slipped out of her lips as she practically fell down as she burst into the stables. "What the fuck is the emergency?!" she hissed, keeping her voice low for the horse's sake. A look of confusion crossed her features as she saw Aiden standing there with an absolutely gorgeous equine, which was quickly replaced by a glare that signaled she got it now.
"I was expecting a horse to be...dying or something, and you scare me to death with your stupid EMERGENCY OVERLOAD thingy," Avery growled, approaching the pair and jabbing Aiden in the side, but not enough to even shift him an inch. She was too wrapped up in the beautiful horse he was standing beside, her curious eyes soaking up the animal with a look of pure appreciation. "Please, Aiden, how did you get a hold of such a lovely horse?" she smiled as wide as could be, stroking the gelding before casting a critical look at her brother. "You stole him, didn't you?" she gasped, streaming her long fingers through the horse's mane, a playful smirk on her face.

Rolling his eyes, Aiden hsook his head, flicking her nose - her own trait - and pinching her side. Grabbing her around the waist, he laughed. " No. I've been saving up alot of money, since i moved into the mansion. " He blushed sheepishly, hoping she wouldn't get pissed. " He cost... 600 thousand dollars. He got.. shipped in from.. umm..." Again, he blushed, deeper this time, " Puerto Rico." It was far away, but he was just gorgeous enough to be worth it. " He's trained in all Diciplines. Oh.. This is Nightshade. " He smiled, patting the geldings neck, who snorted, rubbing his muzzle against Aiden's shoulder. She horse was especially interested in him, though Nightshade took time to nibble a bit of Avery's hair, a sign of affection, obviously. Letting go of Avery's waist, Aiden, looked about. " Which stall? "

She was still gawking at the whole '600 thousand dollars' thing for the horse by the time Aiden finished, asking his last question. Avery only had one horse who came even slightly close to costing that much - her incredibly self impressed, huge Gypsy Vanner, Mazaska - who had come just to $565,000 dollars. He was worth it, though, and that's probably the exact thing her brother thought about Nightshade. "Well, even though that's a huge amount of money and the horse might have jet lag, I'm happy for you," she smiled, stroking the horse once before her eyes scanned the stalls, glancing at him. A laugh slipped out of her, shaking her head as if he was the most dimwitted guy in the world.
"Aiden, board Nightshade at Cigno Nero," she smirked, rolling her eyes as if anyone could come up with that. After all, Avery had offered Aiden a place in her home - she'd offer his horse a place in her stables. "He can be right next to Kodiak, he'd LOVE Nightshade," Avery continued babbling on enthusiastically, obviously excited about a new edition to her stables, if he'd accept the offer. Hey, he had no reason not to. It was close to home, his horse would receive only the finest care (and pampering from Avery herself, she was obsessed with these animals), and everything he could ever want for his horse. Her eyes were on her brother, pleading him to accept.

Aiden sighed. He wasn't exactly an expert on the whole landscape of Glen Oak. He didn't even know what Cigno Nero was, but nodded any way, hoping not to come off a bit stupid. He shrugged, with a lopsided grin. " Alright then... uhh... hey. how 'bout we go out for dinner? Nightshade here needs to settle in a bit. " His smile wavered slightly. they had already called each other many times, planning for the dinner. He raised an eyebrow, wondering if she would remember it at all.
Stroking Nightshade's neck carefully, Aiden smirked at Avery, and immediate reaction. He had been smirking at her all thier lives. She was his siter, and she deserved it half the time, but he still loved her more than anything.

"Cigno Nero would be my stable, Aiden honey," her smirk exactly matched his, and she knew full well he probably didn't have a clue what that had been originally until she'd just told him. "Dinner sounds great. C&C as planned?" she inquired, hooking her arm through his in an elegant, better-than-you fashion. Avery was playing up the whole situation, but she found this fun. Rarely did she get the chance to just hang out with her brother, and besides, the new horse and now dinner would get her mind off of other things that had been taking over her thoughts recently. During all this though, her eyes bugged out of her head, gasping and releasing her hook on his arm.
"Oh my gosh no, I look terrible!" she squeaked, not quite raising her voice, but adding a sense of urgency to it. "I don't even have makeup on, I probably look like a disgusting old hag right now," Avery pouted, glaring at nothing in particular before she glanced over at him. This pretty much meant the end of the world - or more, just no dinner out yet. Unless he had some amazing way of charming her into thinking she didn't look quite that bad, and kept her from seeing herself in any mirrors, it'd be impossible to drag her anywhere right now.

Aiden stared at her. She got worked up over some bat shit she told herself she needed to put around her eyes. He rolled his eyes, and hugged her, trying to hide his amused smile. " Avery, you look amazing. Ever guy will be jealous that their girlfriend isn't as gorgeous and I'll be lucky to have a sister so amazing. " Fabulous would have been a good word.. but it sounded wierd when a guy said it, so he didn't risk it. Smiling another lopsided grin at her, he kissed her forehead. " Believe me.. I'll have to fight the packs of lusted boys off. " It was true. She always looked amazing.. and at that he couldn't help thinking of Alex. shaking his head, he stared at her, willing her to calm down.

For a moment, she was going to dig her heels into the ground and refuse, still, to move, but her willpower faded when he started talking about beating off boys. "I hate you, but fine," she grumbled, grimacing as she looked the other direction, picturing herself walking into a restaurant with people looking at her. It wasn't pleasant, but Avery would accept the invitation, mainly because she'd really been wanting to go out to dinner with Aiden, and she didn't want to let her brother down. "I drive though, okay?" she smiled as she backed off, giving him room to lead Nightshade into his respective stall, though it would be only for one night. In the morning, she'd pester him until he brought his new horse to Cigno Nero. This set up was definitely only temporary.
Despite his compliments, she was still fussing with her hair, smoothing out her clothes, all of that picky shit she did when she got worried about her appearance. If he even glanced her direction, she paused, but resumed once he was distracted. Hah, like Aiden wouldn't notice.

Aiden rolled his eyes, trying not to laugh. His sister was so amazingly... self-centered. But he still loved her. Pinching her side jokingly, he grinned another lopsided grin, and led Nightshade into his stall. He could stay there, aiden decided. It was nice enough.
Ruffling his hair, aiden checked to make sure Nightshade's water trough was full, and the hay net was fresh, along with the soiled hay gone, before finally retreating from Nightshade's new home. Chuckling slightly, aiden nodded. " Fine you drive. But I pay for dinner. " He raised an eyebrow, as if daring her to contradict him, but said nothing more, though a small smile still was plastered upon his face. " Ha. alright. Let's go. " He looped his arm through hers, and raised his head as if escorting a lady to a ball. Ha. this would be fun.

"Like I have a problem with YOU paying for dinner, dorkwad?" she smirked, giving him a quick punch in the side before she took off at a full out run, leaping into her truck and starting it up. The roar of the Chevy's engine probably startled every single human and animal on the earth with it's load rumble, but she loved the vehicle, rarely driving anything else. "Get in, hurry up!" Avery yelled, hanging out the window. Acting like she was having the time of her life was seriously helping her get over the fact she was still heading out without make up or anything to make her look fairly presentable.

Climbing into the car, he struckx a lopsided grin in her direction, flicking her on the side of teh head for good measure. " and, by the way... " Oh, he knew his ass was getting kicked for this, but he said it any way " you, in fact, look worse than an elephants arse, Avery. " He grinned again, expecting a hit or a slap, or evem, perhaps, and open door, a speeding vehicle, and he, flying out of it. clicking his tongue teasingly, Aiden laughed.

A sharp gasp came before she walloped the hardest punch she could manage on his arm, glaring at him as she fumbled with the door handle, about ready to hop out of the vehicle if he didn't give her some sort of apology fast. Aiden hadn't really needed to state that fact - she'd known it already - and of course, he had to mention that to her just as she was pushing it out of her mind. Some sweet brother he was. "Stupid fucking inconsiderate asshole you are, Aiden," she hissed, eyes narrowed as the door finally clicked open. She ignored the continuous ding sounding within the truck, as if they didn't know a 'door was ajar' already anyway. Avery wasn't leaping out just yet, however, one foot hanging menacingly out towards the gravel driveway, just to let him know she'd jump if he started laughing at her instead of being sincerely sorry about what he said. He should be smart enough to realize the second she was out of the vehicle though, she'd find a way to kill him, or come close to it. Was that really worth it just to get some sick kick out of making his sister feel like total worthless shit?

Aiden hid his face, so she wouldn't see him grinning. finally turning back with a perfectly serious face, he spoke, "Alright. but if I'm a stupid fucking inconsiderate asshole, what does that make you. " His hand shot out, and caught her arm in an iron like grip. One thing he could always win at was a strength contest. "I hope you realize, if you get out of this truck, I'll jack it and drive it into the ocean... knowing how much you, well, love me." He waited a moment, seriously contemplating the idea, before he realized she would either take a dagger from her back pocket, or cry. He hoped it was neither, but he would prefer a dagger. " Look, Avery, I was joking. God, You always look amazing you self centered lunatic. Damn! Why do you think Tanner tells you that constantly.. oh, wait. Never mind about him." He smiled timidly, hoping she wouldn't reach out and bash his head against the window. But with her problems with anger management, she would probably shove him in a pit of lava. Shaking his head, he kept his grip on her arm,, not willing to let go for anything. they already had too many fights to begin with, and he never helped with his merciless teasing. But, hey, it was his flipping job, for mother Teresa's sake. He grinned a lopsided grin at her. " I'll be extraaaa, extraaaa nice to you for 2 minutes if you get back in the car and drive to Capulet's, and have a nice meal with me. " He suddenly realized how ridiculous his offer sounded. " Alrighttt, fine. How about you get to pick any day where i do whatever you want, as long as, " He continued sternly, " It doesn't include bodily harm to myself.. or humiliation to my self. Or anything to be mean, cruel or just plain nasty to me. Alright? " He hoped she wouldn't slap him.

Her eyes were boring into him, full of contempt and adoration at the same time. They were like a weak storm, brewing ominously, but they weren't going to cause any damage. Finally boosting herself back up into her seat, Avery grimaced, muttering something incoherent under her breath before she spoke, louder, "you talk too much", giving a lopsided smile that held anything but happiness or amusement. "And please, please, do not mention Tanner. He hates me, just like everyone else," she sighed, as if admitting defeat in some drawn out war. Truthfully, she knew full well Tanner would never hate her, and even if by some miracle he did - hence his being gone for what, over three weeks without any contact - she'd always be obsessed with him. She could not, by any means, see herself loving someone else the way she did him.
By this time, her eyes were becoming glazed with tears, but not from anything Aiden had said. Staring blankly out the window, Avery gave him just one command. "Please drive now, Aiden," she whispered, wiping her eyes with a pallid hand. "And you know I love you, so please don't ever think...otherwise," she wasn't meaning to choose her words carefully, but for the sake of not sounding sappy, she was minding what she spoke, giving him a timid smile as she kissed his cheek quickly. Nice mood swings she had.

He stared at her in near disgust. He could handle a lot of things, but tears just.. didn't exactly register correctly in his mind. But he couldn't feel anything horrible towards his sister. Taking her hand, he tilted her chin, forcing her to look at him. " Tell me what happened between you and tanner, or i'll be forced to tie you up in a chair and torture you with a tapes of barney and his pals all night. " He stifled a grin, thenbecame serious again. " Just tell me, damnit. " He commanded, his voice an authorative tone he only used with her when she was either doing something so stupid and reckless, it was very nearly suicidal, or when he wanted and answer, no exceptions. He glared at her, showing her that he was full well serious. " Why are you so... ugh. emotional around me when i ask you about him? It's like you guys broke up or something. Holy shit. Did he do anything to you? " In his mind, he formulated several plans to hurt Tanner. Severely hurt him. He grinned slightly at the thought of a tank of phirannas and some super glue. shaking his head, he got the image of a broken and mangled Tanner out of his head. though he hadn't met the kid, he was ready to kick his butt in about a nano second. He waited for Avery's reply though, so he wouldn't do something completely rash.

On the other hand, she didn't understand how in the world Aiden cared so much. She was constantly having these stupid little emotional problems - though sometimes, they were rather severe and could lead to some not so good things - and he should be immune to responding to them by now. After all, they were generally over some stupid ,pety little thing she shouldn't be worked up over. At his question, she grimaced, obviously touching on a sensitive subject for her. "We haven't spoken in...over three weeks. No contact at all. I've tried. I'm afraid he's like...got some other girl on the side and I'm not good enough for him and...yeah," she blabbered, the words tumbling out of her mouth crazily. Her eyebrows furrowed for a second, stabbing a toe into the floor of her truck. "I fucking hate him too, he always said he cared and loved me and all that shit, and now he's probably banging some whore somewhere," her vocals were on the verge of screaming now, pulling herself away from Aiden. Avery was having one of those moments she didn't know what to do. She was so terribly unstable, she had times recently she didn't want to deal with it anymore, and had considered some things she shouldn't have.

He stared at her, and in the same stern voice, commanded, " Avery. Shut up. Calm down, now. " He shook his head. " You have emotions like a pregnant mother. " He looked at her worriedly. " you're not pregnant, are you? " Fuuccckkk. Not the right thing to say to your sister who is going through an emotional melt down. He flinched, almost expecting the hit, but didn't wait for it to come. It was sad, really. He, nearly a grown man, afraid of his own younger sister who was two feet shorter than he. It was just sad. " Avery. What are you talking about? Tell me the story calmly, so that i can understand it. Tell me everything. " He was using his 'phsychiatrist voice', trying to calm her down just a bit more. she was only the verge of crying, or maybe she already was. God, please help me. Don't let her be crying or I'll kill myself for asking her this. He begged the truck ceiling. " Alright. Start. " His voice was stern again, like an angry parents'. Like thier mother's.

She was about ready to refuse and storm out of the car, but when he got that voice, that look of sincere, pure determination on his face, she knew she probably wouldn't get a foot out of the car without him killing her for trying to get out of something. Just because it made her uncomfortable, she wanted to leave. Avery, at that moment, thought she was completely, utterly delusional and crazy, tilting her head back in the same fashion he had. A big sigh came before her explanation - or what she could provide of one - before she began to speak, slowly but surely. "I talked to him...what, 3, 4 weeks ago? He had to go. College. And then he hasn't spoken to me, said a word to me.." her voice broke here, her hands clenched into fists as she continued, "since that. I can't get in contact with him. I've tried, but I can't, and I'm so worried...I'm just not good enough," she shrugged, as if now carrying out a conversation with herself on why he might be ignoring her, if he was. Her eyes were blank, as if forgetting he was there.

Aiden rolled his eyes with a large hefty sigh. " you're worried over that? you idiot! " He protested against her woes. " Take it from a guy, Avery. When we get really big changes, we aren't exactly quick to over come them? Why do you think we go to the same stores almost our whole lives, eat the same food over and over, and why do you think we're lazy asses? He's got to adjust. College is a huge change. Give him time. and as for the girls. . . he loves you too much, Avery. and you know it. you've given yourself too much time to think about it. " He smiled, and leaned forward so he could kiss her forehead reassuringly. " Alright. Let me drive, alright. Come on. " He got out of the passenger seat, and jogged around the front to her door, opening it, and waiting for her to slide over.

Great. He could just blow it off like it was nothing. She didn't care. "Fine," her voice had a new edge to it, almost violent as she stepped out of the car, but didn't make a move to go around to the passenger side of the vehicle. She left him to do what he wanted, backing up a few steps. "Go. I don't fucking care," she growled, turning her back on him to march off. Where to, exactly, she had no idea. She was probably making a fool of herself right now, or at least giving him means to get her into a mental institution, but she was getting sick of everything, helpless on what to do. Truth was, she couldn't work without Tanner's attention, couldn't function without some sort of constant support. Avery thrived off of other people - sometimes selfishly, which she hated herself for - and if someone rocked her boat, she might as welljump out and drown herself. Feeling always so lost took it's toll on you, she supposed, blinking wildly as she stumbled into the stable where Nightshade was boarded, blocking out Aiden, the truck, the world.
