Avery bounded into the mare stable, and once she was absolutely positive she had every mare's attention, she yelled a grand 'MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!' to all of them. OK, sure, they just stared at her like she was a nutcase, but she had the right to be happy.
Recently, she'd sold four of her mares, and she planned on selling all of her Morgans over time. It was a sad decision, but she wanted to get into Mustangs and Gypsy Vanners. The morgans she owned deserved better homes, that would continue to train them, and appreciate their extreme talent. She'd recently acquired four new mares, too - Iditarod, Denali, Hopa, and Ksapa. Three of them were some absolutely gorgeous Mustang mares, and Iditarod was a grand Gypsy Vanner mare.
Avery planned on creating a breeding program with these horses, but not getting as much stock as she had now. She got to work on feeding, watering, and grooming all of her mares, spending a bit more time with her four new mares during grooming. They'd all receive training, but Ksapa and Hopa would receive a bit more attention, since they were older, and in foal. Iditarod and Denali would probably be bred sometime soon, too.
She refreshed every mare's bedding, still working with vigor, since she was feeling absolutely fantastic this morning. Each mare received a 'present' on top of their feed - two carrots each and a peppermint - which she was sure they'd all appreciate. She'd be back later to begin training with Ksapa, Hopa, Denali and Iditarod, but right now, she needed to care for her stallions. She skipped out.

Avery bounded back into the stable, to greet her mares, specifically Ksapa, Hopa, Iditarod and Denali. She led Ksapa out of her stall, soothing the mare, since she seemed just a bit flighty. She was probably nervous, in the new environment. Avery decided that Dressage would suit the mare. Once she was finished training in that, Avery would probably go for barrel racing with her. She led her to the crossties, grooming her all over again ( it couldn't hurt ) and grabbing her lunge line and lunge whip. She wasn't going to ride her today, since she wanted to take it easy with her horses. She led her out to the arena.

Avery returned to the mare stable, leading a frisky Ksapa along with her. The mare had done very well in her training session today, and Avery knew that this mare would probably end up being her favorite. She was quite fun to work with. Avery groomed her down, picking out her hooves, and checking for any sweat marks or injuries. She had to be very careful with her, since she was in-foal, and couldn't ever work her too hard. Avery let her back into her stall to rest, placing a stable blanket over her, since it was still fairly brisk outside.
Now, it was Hopa's turn. Avery haltered the mare, groomed her, and led her to the arena. She was doing a different horsemanship exercise with her today, that the other mares would all go through, just not today. Over time, Hopa would be a barrel racer. Avery would need to buy some western tack, since currently, she only had english, but that wasn't necessary for today's session.

Avery returned with Hopa, who had done pretty well on the obstacle course today. She had only been afraid of two things, but had overcome her fear of them very well. She groomed her down, and snatched Denali out of her stall, grooming her down and leading her out to the arena. She had to be pretty careful with Denali, since she was still a crazy girl, and could use an energetic discipline. She figured that cattle roping would be suited to her.

Avery returned with Denali. It'd taken some work, but the mare had calmed down, and gone around on the lunge line a few times. That was all Avery was going to ask of her, and she was going to take it very slow.
Iditarod wasn't going to have training today. Instead, she'd be let out to the pasture. Same would go for Talkeetna, her new Gypsy stallion. Now, it was time for Kodiak, her only mustang stallion, to get into training.

Avery entered, huddled in a coat. She was shivering, feeling like her entire face was frozen to one expression. She wasn't feeling very upbeat today, and hadn't been lately - not to mention, she also had a pretty bad cold. With all of these new horses moving in, she wasn't training anyone for a while, until she developed a training schedule and got them all settled. She was simply here to feed and water all of them, and refresh their bedding. Once she'd done that, she left to the stallions.

Ashlyn walked into the mare barn humming softly. She looked down the 2 rows of stalls. Her breath caught over her throat when she saw Ksapa's head sticking over her door. How beautiful...she walked over slowly and quietly. Pulling out a small peice of carrot from her pocket she fed it to the mare. Scratching Ksapa's ears the smiled when the horse lowered her head. That was what Avo did. She smiled at the fond thought of her playful stallion. Quickly, snapped a lead rope to the mare's expenisve leather halter and led her out of the stall. Hooking Ksapa to the cross-ties, she went to go grab Avery's Oster® brushes from the tack room. Ksapa sttod like a statue through the whole grooming process. When the curry comb was run in small circles up her neck she closed her eyes and grunted softly, exhaling.
When she body brush ran across her barrel she stiffened slightly and Ashlyn wondered why that was until, the answer was right in front of her. Ksapa was pregnant! Ashlyn immediatly loosened her pressure and the mare loosened her posture. Whew. She wa glad she had done the mare no harm. Avery would've killed. Then again, anyone would have. She continued brushing the mare. After her feet were done as well, free of loose stones and straw, Ashlyn walked back to the tack room. Grabbing a dressage saddle with stirrups that looked like they would fit her. She put on a fancy fleece pad and slipped on the saddle, fitting it snugly in place. With the bridle in place as well, Ksapa was ready. Pulling the reins over her head, they walked to the dressage arena.

Leading the happy Ksapa back to the cross-ties Ashlyn hooked her up. Undoing the girth she slid it across the saddle and unvelcroed the pad from the saddle, draping it over the seat as well. Sliding the saddle of her back the mare rippled her skin in pleasure. Rubbing her clean with a dry, white towel and then making sure all her hairs were facing the right way Ashlyn completed training with Ksapa. She was a good mare. Hoping to train her again soon was Ash's wish. She thought about her new job and how much she liked it while running a body brush over Ksapa' flanks. Throwing the stable sheet on her again, she led the mare to her stall. Gave her another peice of carrot and kissed her soft nose.

Scanning the list for training, she saw that Hopa was up next for training. She started humming again, and slowly and softly walked to Hopa's stall making sure that her black boots didn't scare the horse. She whispered Hopa's name and smiled as the mare poked her head out of the stall door. "Hey girl..." grabbing a lether halter and lead shank Ashlyn clipped Hopa to the cross-ties where Ksapa had previously been. Pulling all of the black hairs from Ksapa's coat and throwing them away, she started currying Hopa. She coughed as the curry comb raised a small duststorm and Hopa put her ears back nervously. Taking a minute to stroke the velvet soft ears. They stopped twitching and finaly became relaxed again.
After the soft brush has finished making sure all the loose straw was gone, Ashlyn grabbed a deep-seated dark stained western saddle and a prettily patterened pad. Also hooking a western bridle on her arm, with a double-brake bit and shanks. First came the saddle sliding it back a little, to make all the hairs smooth. Next, came the chinch growling at her when Hopa tried to nip. Last, came the bridle where the mare's cremello head came down, with her mouth open, ready to accept the bridle. The reins came over the Piebald head and they headed toward the arena to work on barrel racing.

Ashlyn led the tired mare back inside. Hopa seemed ready to learn, very cooperative and willing to learn, no matter how hard it may be. Hooking Hopa up to the cross-ties she slid the sweaty bridle, orange bit and all out of Hopa's mouth. Patting her neck, she also slid off the saddle. Depositing it on a saddle rack outside of an empty stall. She walked to the tack room and grabbed 2 clean towels and some leather cleaning soap. She threw 1 of the towels toward the saddle and rolled the soap over there also. Taking the other towel, she rubbed all over Hopa's body until there were no seat marks and she was no longer shivering.
Using the same brushes, Ashlyn, quickly ran over Hopa's delicate skin with the body brush and made sure any hairs that had come off with the seat were gone. She put a hand to the gleaming neck. Smooth and cool. Selecting a hoofpick, Ashlyn, zoned in on small stones and lots of hard packed sand. Making sure the blanket was secure, stepping back and admiring her work and giving a small stroke Ashlyn led her back to the warm, roomy comfort of the stall.

Riley walked down the aisle the horses here were so beautiful. She loved it. She spotted the beautiful head sticking over the door and recognized it as Ksapa the next on her list to train. She walked down the aisle toward the beautiful mare. She stopped infront of the stall and slipped a finger into her pocket pulling out a peppermint and offing it to the mare. The mare crunched happily and she smiled. She grabbed the lead rope next to the mares stall and clipped it onto her leather halter. She opened the stall door and lead the mare out into the crossties. This would be the second horse she rode for avery today. She cross-tied the mare and unclipped the lead rope. She walked to the tack room once again grabbing the brushes. She pulled out the curry comb and began to groom the mare carefully. She finished grooming her and returned the brushes to the tack room.
She returned carrying a dressage saddle, bridle and saddle pad. She halted beside the mare and sat the tack down. She picked up the saddle pad and placed in on the mares delicate back. She then placed the saddle ontop of that. She tightened the girth and patted the mares shoulder for being so good. She reached for the bridle and walked to ksapa's head. She slipped the reins over her head and unclipped the crossties. She pulled off the mares halter and slipped the bit into her mouth with ease. She pulled the bridle over her ears and tightened the throat latch and noseband. She hung the halter outside ksapa's stall and grabbed her helmet. She pulled the reins over the mares head and lead her from the barn to the training arena.

Riley walked into the barn leading the black mustang mare behind her. She halted infront of the cross-ties and pulled the reins back over the mare head. She unlatched the noseband and throat latch and then slipped off the bridle. She slipped on the mares halter and pulled the reins over her head. She slipped the bridle over her shoulder and clipped the cross-ties to her halter. She Walked to the saddle and unhooked the girth. She walked to the other side pulling the girth off and putting it over the saddle. She pulled off the saddle and saddlepad and walked them to the tack room. She put everything back and grabbed the brushes. She walked back to the mare grooming her off. She wanted to get the sweat and loose hair off of her. She smiled as she stared at the mares gleaming coat. She tossed on the mares stable sheet and fastened the straps. She unclipped the crossties and lead her back to her stall. She closed the door and locked it as she walked out. She walked back down the aisle to locate her next trainee.
She spotted the chestnut mare the last one on her list. She clipped the lead rope to her halter and lead her to the crossties hooking them to her halter.. SHe grabbed a brush and began to groom off the mustang mare. She worked quickly humming to herself she still had somethings to do today and luckily this was her last ride. She patted the mares neck and walked to the tack room. She grabbed one of the western saddles, bridles, and saddle blankets and walked back to where denali stood. She set everything down and grabbed the saddle pad. She sat it on her back and grabbed the saddle. She swung the heavy saddle onto the mares back and then tightened the cinch. She made sure everything was snug and she grabbed the mares bridle. She slipped the headstall over her ears inserting the bit into her mouth. She pulled the reins over her head and lead her from the barn to the training arena.

Avery entered the stable, breathing in the sweet scent of horses and tack. She'd live here if she could (which technically, was possible), but for now, she just needed to snap out of her fantasy and take care of her horses. She checked the training schedule, and saw that Ashlyn and Riley had done a wonderful job with the horses - as she'd expected. They were going to move right along in their training now. This month, they'd probably receive a bit of a bonus (hey, it was only fair, to welcome them into OMF's horse program). Greeting the first mare she saw, Ksapa, Avery laughed as the mare snorted into her hair. She was a character sometimes. She fed and watered the mare, haltering her and leading her to the crossties.
There, she groomed the mare down, picking out her hooves and giving her a good once over. She checked for any scrapes or bruises, since the mare was in foal, but found none. She had confidence in Riley and Ashlyn to notice those too, of course, so she wasn't worrying a lot. She tied some bows in Ksapa's mane and tail, leading her back to her stall, hooking her outside of it, and refreshing the bedding. It was chilly today, as usual, so she carefully clipped a stable blanket over the mare and let her return to her large box stall - every horse at OMF had one. Avery did the same for all of her gorgeous mares, and headed over to the stallions.

Avery returned to the stable. Not only did she have to haul in the new bags of cooked cereal meal for all of the horses, but she'd received news that Wowahwa was now in foal, by Sota. Avery was ecstatic at the idea of another foal, and gave Wowahwa 4.8 pounds of Fertility Plus, to get her on the right track with the foal. She'd do anything she needed to for all of her mares to have healthy foals. Wowahwa was eager at getting the extra feed, though it wasn't a lot. This would replace her daily concentrates from now until she had the foal.

Avery skipped into the mare barn, greeting all of the beautiful girls waiting for her with a huge hug around their neck. She felt a bit happy today - don't even ask her why - and she got right to work with getting the first mare out of her stall, that being her favorite, Ksapa. She fed and watered the mare, and refreshed her bedding, as she was tied outside of the stall.
Then, she was snatched up and taken to the crossties, to be given a long, thorough grooming. She enjoyed it, being put to sleep, but was rudely awakened by Avery gently patting her neck, asking her permission to come back to the stall. Ksapa plodded along, with Avery laughing the entire way, and headed back to do the same with the rest of her mares.

Avery entered the mare stable area of the expansive Overtime Magic Farms property, shivering as she greeted Ksapa, who demanded attention the second she'd stepped inside. She let out a shuddery breath, since the stable felt like a heat wave inside, compared to the weather outside. Since she couldn't really feel her face all that well, and still had geldings to tend to, she got to work right away on feeding, watering, and grooming every mare, not slacking on the work just because she felt frozen stiff. Each mare received a thorough grooming and check over, to make sure they were in perfect 'condition'. Finally, she refreshed each mare's bedding, much to the dislike of each of the horses. They didn't really like being forced out of their warm stalls, but at least they were allowed to return to them fairly soon, once they'd had some time out.
At last, everything with the mares seemed to be in order. A kiss was blew to each of them, since she wasn't exactly feeling like bounding down the aisle to give each of them one personally. Now for the geldings, and she could go home.

Regan went into the mare barn, searching for the only mare on her list to train. Walking down the aisle, she was greeted by many lovely faces. Finally stopping at Ksapa’s stall, Regan knew right away that her & this mare where going to get along really well. Stepping into the stall, Ksapa nuzzled Regan’s hands looking for treats, like most horses do, but she was a very polite horse who waited patiently to receive a treat. Regan examined the mare thoroughly, making note of her physical appearance to see if it matched how she moved or acted. The mare followed Regan around the stall for a few minutes as Regan tried to study her. Smiling, Regan pat the mares neck and went to fetch her supplies. Regan Brushed the mares rich coat, mane, and tail then checked her feet. Regan had a good feeling about this mare and was hopeful that their work session would go rather well. Regan chatted cheerfully to the mare as she led her out of the barn and to the round pen. (Continued in Training: round pen)

Making their way back to the barn, Regan tied Ksapa outside her stall. Fifteen minutes later, Regan realized that she spent a bit more time than intended grooming the mare. Off thinking again, Regan had lost track of the time and giggled when she saw that she had put the mare nearly to sleep. Stroking the mares neck she smiled. She quickly checked her feet and put her back in the stall, then put her things away. Running out of the barn, Regan made her way to her car and drove off to feed her beloved Nuit.
