The short blonde walked through the barn she wanted to check on her horses. She didn't worry about them but wanted to make sure they were comfortable. As she strolled down the aisle she noticed a new grey hanging his head over the stall door. She eyed him from the other side of the aisle. He was beautiful. She glanced around for an owner wondering if they were still around. She walked over to punks stall and stroked the forehead of the big grey still half hoping to find the owner to the horse. She hadn't really met anyone yet and friend would be nice especially if they rode. She glanced down the aisle again hearing something in the distance. Punk snorted and riley laughed. "Punk your a goof ball." she stroked the horse affectionatly again. He'd been around her since he was a baby thier bond was special. She glanced back at the other grey wondering what his name was.

Corey was kneeling down by the tap, filling up a metal bucket for Azrael. His ears were plugged with the sound of SlipKnoT, all other sounds inpenatrable through the wall of metal. The dull sound of footsteps echoed past the music and he glanced up, straightening himself to his full height. Pale blue eyes scoured the dark barn before landing on pretty blonde girl stroking what looked like a Thoroughbred. A small smirk crossed his visage as he picked up the bucket and headed to the stall. "Back up, Az" Corey said to the gelding as he unbolted the door. Obediantly, the mount stepped back as Corey placed the water down. A small pat was given on the neck of the horse before he fished out a mint. A smile creapt over Corey's lips as the andalusian snuffled the treat up. Silently he moved the horse's forelock out of his eyes and turned to smile at the girl.

Riley slipped into a trance as she stroked the gelding. She heard the sound of footsteps and glanced up noticing the tall masculine. She turned her attention to the horse again trying not to star at the dark haired near her. She reached in her pocket for an apple slice and fed it to the gelding. She smiled again. She heard a stall door open and turned to see the it was the grey she'd been admiring she watched for a couple minutes as the man kept his back to her a smile creeping across her features so the one she'd been looking for was a man. She breathed deep maybe she;d introduce herself. She watched him shut the stall door and give the horse a mint. She breathed deep again and strolled across the short distance she watched him glance up at her and she smiled. "Err.. Hi i'm Riley." she was awkward when meeting new people but she'd get over it eventually. "You horse is beautiful." she spit the words out not meaning to she was more or less thinking out loud. She kept her composure together she hated being shy.

Corey turned to face her. The compliments she'd given about Azrael made his snow tainted skin turned a light shade of vermillion. "Thanks. Yours is a looker too. Im Corey by the way..." he replied honestly. A palm moved to flick his ebony hair out of his view. A small smile overcame his hard features. It was unusual for Corey to smile at anything. Attention was drawn quickly to his horse as the gelding snapped at a horse in the next stall. Quick reactions gave him enough strength to pull Azrael's head away from the other equids."Stop showing off, you idiot!" he snapped, stern words made the horse back down. Corey sighed heavily "Sorry about that" he said quietly to Riley.

Riley watched the other as he spoke. She smiled brightly at the compliment. "Yeah he may be a looker but he's psycho." she smiled affectionatly over at the horse who was tossing his hay around his stall. She shook her head laughing. "It's nice to meet you corey.." she jumped as she watched the gelding snap at the other equine. It was a horse thing she understood, she laughed as he scolded the gelding. She smiled sweetly her features light and delicate like always. "It's okay don't worry." she was easy going and easy to get along with but her shyness turned people away from her. "So are you new here?" she was curious she'd just arrived here a week or so ago so it'd be nice to meet someone else new. She glanced at her gelding and the mare beside him. She'd started with one and now had four it was hard to believe. She turnt her attention back to the masculine her eyes sweeping over him quickly he was attractive. She hadn't notice earlier.

He smiled gently at her, his slim frame leant against a beam of the stables, pale fingers entwined in Azrael's mane. Corey listened intently to her passive words. Riley's questioning was normal for most people. A small sigh escaped him at this query "Yes, I arrived today." he replied quietly. Occs admired both horses silently. "Fancy a ride?" he asked suddenly. He needed to be shown around and horseback was always the best way. Digits sweapt over Azrael, watching intently as he held his head high. A feeling of being watched overcame him, and occs turned to Riley, a small grin on his face.

She blushed as she realized she'd been caught looking at him. She ragained her composure quickly. "Sure. That's sounds like fun." she loved riding and her boy always needed to get out so whenever the chance arose she welcomed it. She glanced down the barn then back at the guy before her. Her eyes drifted to his horse. She loved Andalusians but had never had one. they were beautiful creatures. She sighed growing up around the track she'd always been taken by thoroughbreds and thier abundant energy. She had been right guessing he was new. She glanced at him again. "Well i guess i should tack up then." she hesitated for a second her eyes linger on the gelding then back to his owner. He seemed nice a little distant and standoffish but nice. She shook her head shaking the thoughts stirring.

He nodded in a silent acknowledgement to her statement before jogging to his chevvy to find his gelding's tack. Swift movements allowed him to bend easily into the truck and pull out the saddle, bridle & numnah in their box. Draping the bridle over his shoulders and positioning the numnah & saddle over his forearm he jogged into the barn. Placing the tack on the door he jumped the stall wall and placed the tack correctly on the gelding. Tightening all the correct straps, Corey led Azrael out, closed the door and mounted swiftly, adjusting his stirrup leathers to the correct lenght and tightening his girth. "Ready when you are!" he called down the barn.

Riley walked off to the dapple grey throughbreds stall. She halted for a second then continued on to the tack room. She walked back carrying her saddle, saddle pad, and bridle. She set her things on the stall door and opened the door she walked into the throughbreds stall and pulled his blanket off setting it outside the stall for a second. She quickly threw on his tack. She heard corey call from down the aisle and she smiled. "I'm almost done." she led the grey from the stall and he pranced behind her she half halted him a second and walked him forward. She mounted up and waited to head off unsure of where they were headed.

Corey watched intently as she led the gelding down and mounted. Tightening his reins, he legged the horse out of the barn and into the yard. "Which is the best trail ride?" he asked Riley, whilst pulling his leg back to the left stirrup. Azrael pranced beneath him, eager to get moving. After a four hour journey the andalusian had a lot of stored energy. Corey swung his leg back down, adjusting his weight so it was balanced in the saddle.

Riley gathered her reins and nudged the horse to walk out of the barn behind corey. Riley sat balanced in her saddle and thought of the best trail in glen oak. She laughed a little it was hard to concetrate with the dapply grey gelding beneath her dancing. He always did it she was used to it. He tossed his head in disagreement he hated standing. She stroked his neck. "The best one are probably the ones near the arenas. They lead out to a large open field and then some wooded areas that lead to the creek." she motioned in the direction. She circled the horse trying to stop his prancing. He still danced a little as she stopped her circle.

Corey nodded his head in agreement, his ebony hair falling over his face. He felt the andalusian tense beneath him, picking up on the dapple's excitement. "Easy boy..." he murmered, his digits stroking the geldings grey neck. "Lead the way, Ms. Riley..."Corey gestured, a hint of shyness entering his vocals. He felt out of place, not knowing where they were going.

Riley gathered her reins a little tighter and pointed the gelding off to the left. She laughed again as he danced. She looked over at corey. "Sorry he's an ex racer he's very excitable." she storked the grey's neck he settled down a little. she picked up on the slight change of tone in his voice. She pushed punk over to the right and headed toward the end of the barn. "Theres a trail around the farm over here." She kept the gelding reins tight but her began to settle a little more. She talked soothingly to the gelding. "So how long have you been riding?" she was asking questions to keep a conversation up a quiet trail ride would be no fun.

Perfect adjustments in the saddle caused the andalusian to edge beside the thoroughbred. His neck was tense, looking as if about to snap at the gelding beside him. Corey's eye was held on the horse's actions. "Uhh,7/8 years I think. Got kicked out when i was 15...so yeah. How about you?" He replied, adding her question into it. Azrael lowered his head, relaxing slightly. The midday heat was strong, and draping the reins over the geldings neck and using only leg gestures to guide him, Corey was able to remove his heavy jacket and tie it around his waist. As he gathered up his reins, he awaited Riley's reply.

Riley sat aboard the tall gelding his dancing settling down he slowed and kept his walk at an even pace. She listened to him talk a twinge of regret passing through her from the question she'd asked. "I've ridden off and on since i was 5. I quit for a few years then moved to kentucky and began riding again." she kept her sentences brief she didn't dwell in the past. It was hard enough for her still getting through day to day. She was at a lose of what else to say. She glanced over at him and his gelding watching the horse. She noticed he'd pulled his jack off. She had unzipped hers in the barn but she was still a little warm. She glanced down the trail it was nice out today not to cold like it had been the last few days.

Corey nodded his head taking in her answer. she seemed edgy about the topic so he changed it easily "So...tell me about Punk, ex-racers are always interesting to me" he smiled. A digit flicked his hair out of his eyes, focusing on the view and the direction he had to go. The forestry looked tempting. He hoped it would be a good area for Azrael's cross country training.

The trail split ahead and riley headed off to the left trail leading toward the woods. She smiled as he asked about punk. "Nothing to much to tell. he hit the track a two year old on my aunt's farm. I was his jockey. He broke his maiden with ease and then went on to win close to $58,000 he had 6 wins. He pulled his tendon and had a hairline fracture in his cannon bone so he was retired." she didn't divulge any more of his story it was painful. Her hand raised instinctively to her collarbone. She shook her head and gathered the rein again. "How about your boy whats his story?" she was curious to hear about his horse. She sighed a little as they walked along the gelding perfectly calm now.

Corey listened to her reply intently. He found horse stories interesting. "I got him cheap at an auction, apparently a rogue horse. I fixed him up and weve been together since." he made it sound like some soppy love story, but it was far from it. A digit extended to pat the grey neck of Azrael. A small snort escaped his delicate muzzle and a light laugh left Corey's lips. "Sounds like hes been a good find" he said appreciatively.[/size]

She smiled broadly. "It sounds like he was a great find." she stroked the greys neck. "My aunt gave him to me as a get well soon present plus we were both rehabing so it made easier." she sighed it sounded stupid when she put it like that but it had made rehabbing a lot easier on her having a horse who couldn't do anything either. She glanced at him. "If you don't mind me asking where do you come from?" her southern accent coming through faintly in her words. She sighed lightly and followed the trail at a slow easy pace. "He seems like a really nice horse." her eyes drifted to the gelding again then back up to his rider. She felt bad still about all the questions but she didn't want silence.
