Valera went nextdoor to her new neighbor's apartment. His name was Dallas, she had heard. She was really looking forward to meeting some of the guys areound Glen Oak, as she only knew Alonzo, and he was her barworker. She knocked on the door, and no one was there. That always seemed to happen. So she left her usual package and letter and went back to her apartment.

Welcome to Glen Oak. I guess you could call me the unofficial welcoming committee. Enclosed in the package beneath this letter are some homemade cookies and a $50 gift card to my cafe, Cappucino and Caberet. I live in the apartment right next to yours, if you're ever interested in stopping by.
