Samantha May Blackstone is the second child of wealth parents John and Rachel Blackstone. She grew up with two sisters, two years old and two years younger. Both parents care very much about what the public and other upper class families think about them. Samantha has been trained well in that area but does not really care so much.
Samantha is moving to Glen Oak in order to distance herself from her over baring parents and focus more on her horses and riding.
S A M P L E P O S T
(I'll just write a sample barn post)
Samantha Blacktone climbs out of her black mustang in the gravel covered parking area of Stardust Hills. She is dressed for the barn in her turquoise polo shirt, breeches and tall rubber muck boots. Sam's long brown hair is braided and in her hands are her helmet, shiny black riding boots, purse and keys. Locking the doors over her shoulder, Sam tosses the keys in her purse and heads for her locker to deposit her belongings before heading to Stardust's stall. Samantha calls greetings to several horses as she makes her way down the wide aisle of the large blue and white barn. She turns into the spacious, well lite riders lounge and makes her way around the leather sofa to her blue locker. Opening the door she deposits her purse and helmet on the small top shelf and her boots on the bottom shelf then shuts the door and locks it. As she heads to Stardust stall, Samantha stops by the feed room and grabs some horse cookies. As she heads down the barn aisle again Sam stops to give her other horse a pat of the head and a cookie before continuing to her original destination.
Once she is in Stardust stall, Samantha gives Stardust a horse cookie then slips on the halter and leads her to cross ties. "Quit that!" Samantha tells Stardust with a laugh as the mare nips at her pocket for another treat. Samantha quickly grooms her horse then gives her another treat. She retrieves her jumping saddle, bridle and running martingal from the tack room and makes quick work of tacking Stardust. Samantha changes boots and grabs her helmet before she and Stardust head out for a nice gallop.
Once outside Samantha buckles on her helmet. Stardust fidgets around a bit while Samantha mounts her and lands smoothly in the saddle. "It's been too long. I should have told Daddy that I had to make it home in a week but he insisted I stay for New Years also.", Samantha told her small Paint mare as they set off for an open area with plenty of shade trees. Samantha could feel the tension in Stardust as the mare let out a loud whinny to her pasture friends. Ginger nickered back causing Stardust to prance sideways before Samantha put her leg into the mare to stop the movement. The pair broke into a posting trot maneuvered through the paddocks into the open meadow.
As they started cantering to the left the frisky mare let out a couple of bucks then settled into an even gait. I like cantering, Samantha thought as they made their second circle and she stood in her stirrups and urged Stardust into a gallop, but I love galloping!
Both Samantha and Stardust are sufficiently tired but happy when the finally arrive back at the barn. Samantha puts Stardust back into cross ties and finds a drink before untacking her mare. Stardust then receives a bath and is left under warm lamps to dry while Samantha cleans out her stall.
Thirty minutes later Stardust is in her clean stall fully blanketed and munching on her grain. Sighing Samantha finishes her drink, tosses the can in the trash and calls good bye to the stable hands as she walks back out to her car. She dumps her helmet and boots in the back then gets in and heads for home with plans of a good burger from the local dinner on her mind.
