My past has been riddled with unfortunate events. I began riding horses at the age of 10, not that long ago in the big scheme of things. My parents bought me my first horse, an experienced 16 year old eventing horse when I was 16. Less than a year later, less than a month before my 17th birthday, my parents were hauling the horse to a show about two hours away when they got in an accident and both my parents and the horse were instantly killed. I never talk about my past; no one knew when I moved to my aunt’s place in upstate New York. I worked hard, earned my GED early and began catch riding and working to earn money for my first horse. When I turned 18 my aunt and uncle bought me Cadillac Cruise, a 17 hand dapple grey sport horse that was only 3 years old. I had been eyeing the colt ever since I had come to live with my aunt and uncle, and of course they knew that. They knew that I had to go away to pursue my dreams of being an international three day eventer, and encouraged me as I left for the city of Glen Oak. Hopefully it wasn’t a mistake.
