that girl is Naomi Sommer
innocent 25
flyaway blonde
dare me grey
i've worked for humane society manager
back off strong, defiant, non-conforming, untrusting, witty, hard working
She'd always been a bit of a troublemaker. Naomi Sommer didn't enjoy going with the flow, and if you told her not to do something, she'd do it anyway for the fun of seeing your anger. This was always blamed on her family, and how they were continuously struggling to put food on the table, unable to help their daughter grow up like children deserve.
Eventually, she became accustomed to not doing so well. In fact, it was embraced in her society, showing your rebellious nature being the latest fashion. For a while, she saw life as being pretty good. People looked up to her, respected her, and listened to her. What she didn't receive at home, she got from her peers.
But school was not real life, or the future. When she was pushed out into the world, she became even more bitter, fierce and snotty to anybody she encountered. It was to be expected. Her life wasn't heading in a good direction, and there was no end in sight.
She skipped from job to job, finally settling into the latest fast food joint just as she was fired and forced to move somewhere else. Fate brought her to a job in the town of Glen Oak, Kentucky, as a stable hand. She'd never tried anything with animals before, and took it on.
Her entire life was opened up. The girl who'd never had a heart for anything found her soft spot - for horses. How trusting and loyal they were was something so new, and so welcomed. She instantly opened her life up to these animals, and as she helped to take care of them, they healed her.
Today, her attitude hasn't changed much. She's still a hothead, and it doesn't take much to put her over the edge, but she's accomplished something. She's the Humane Society Manager, and recently, she's realized something. She's living her dream - the one she didn't even know she had.
