Yes, Tanner was quiet. Once again, he wasn't sure why. Mmhmm. He mumbled to her obvious statement. As they truck jolted, announcing they were at their destination, he peered out at the strange clearing. A meadow? Different, but quite interesting. A smile crept over his damaged lips as he glanced over the large trees hanging effortlessly over the grassy meadow. Tanner looked in her direction. This is nice. He said simply, but hopefully those words told enough. For a winter day, the air was unnaturally warm and the breezes had a comfortable tone to them. He was still in his hoodie, but today was perfect to be out. It wouldn't matter if it was the coldest day on earth, just a chance to be with Avery was a chance worth taking.

"YOOHOO, TANNER!," Avery squeaked, drumming on his window rapidly with her fingers. She'd already leapt out of the car and made her way around to his side, tugging his door open. She prodded his stomach lightly, her excitement apparent at having escorted him here. To her, it was one of the best places in the entire world, even though she'd only ever seen Italy outside of the few places she'd visited in the US. Her eyes were crazed with delight, lighter than they usually ever were as she bounced up and down, practically dragging him out of his seat as she constricted her arms about his torso. It was like she was on a sugar high or something, but she just got this way when she was passionately eager for something. Her emotions made sense.

As he was yanked out of the truck, he emitted a chuckle, kissing her forehead. The air was a moist warm. He smiled at her, his stitched facade giving it a bittersweet expirience. Tanner smiled lightly at her excitement. He was so happy that shewas happy. His pale blue eyes darted around the area, scanning the surroundings. It seemed throughout the whole time he'd been with Avery, almost every place they went was a nature...something. He liked that. He looked back towards her, seeing how beautiful she was, he couldn't help but grin. Sooo..uh? What are we going to do?He asked softly.

Ah, great. Her smile was gone instantly, lips bobbing as she fought for something to say. Wonderful. Drag the boy out to a meadow in the middle of the boondocks and you don't even have something planned for him when you got there. She was just a genius, wasn't she? "Uhhm," she breathed, ruffling the side of her hair with a few quick plucks from her hand. "Fuck. I don't have any plans," she growled, distressing the earth below her feet with a sharp kick. "I'm an idiot," she rasped, covering her face. "I just wanted you to...see this place. But there's nothing to do out here, is there?" her voice was disappointed, screaming at herself in her mind. She seriously needed to get out of the fantasy world she was in with him and actually think and breathe when she was in his presence.

Tanner watched her squirm in displeasure at his question. He raised his brows and suddenly had a look of distress as well as she did. No, no! You're not a idiot. Come on! He grabbed her hand and bounded towards the meadow, the wintered grasses swayed unevenly in the breeze and the ominous shadows cast a mysterious look on the place. Then, the sun peeked through the canopy, lightly up the meadow with a luminous glow. As he pulled her along, a root met his foot and he tripped forward, bringing her with him. He landed on his back, her on his stomache. Forgetting that he was completely out of breath, he noticed how close they were. To close? She was on top of him...he hoped that didn't send a 'to far' alarm off. A swallow leaked through his raspy throat as he stared at her sparkling blue eyes. Sorry.. He murmured and began to get up, wishing that they could just lay there...but he dind't want her to feel uncomfortable.

A childish laugh bubbled out of her, a teasing smirk conquering her previously excited appearance. "You don't mean that, silly," with a slight push, she leaned him back into the grass, eyes dancing. She wasn't worried at all, and they didn't need to stand up. There was nothing to do if they had in the first place. However, just in the event that he really didn't feel quite comfortable at this point, she shifted, her body now in the grass, which easily bent under her weight. Her head was still resting on his stomach though, an appeased grin radiating from her face. Absentmindedly, she took his hand, stroking it lightly with her thumb before she rested her head on it. "I'm sort of glad you fell down," her vocals were hushed, as though breaking the dead silence of the meadow would overthrow and vanquish the moment. She chanced a glance at his face, heart plunging over a few beats as she did so. God, those eyes, that smile of his. Everything. It was too good to be true, an enamored, captivated stare cast in his direction before she turned her face away, releasing a drawn out sigh. It was comforted, though, not bored or annoyed in the slightest. She could stay here forever, until she died of starvation, and even with knowing that would be her end, she'd be pleased to bunker down there. Her life was ablaze now, thanks to him, absolutely brilliant in it's proportions. Tanner was magnificent, inside and out, and she had no idea how she'd been lucky or deserving enough for something like this. It was ridiculous.

He was glad that she decided it was ok to stay in the grass. But to his disappointment, she shifted from his body just as he was beginning to enjoy the feel of her thin, curved body. That feeling vanished when she looked at him. When their eyes met, it was like every care he ever had, every worry he ever had...just disappeered. Me too... He whispered lightly, almost silently. Tanner lifted his hand and pushed her ebony bangs from her shark blue eyes. I'm surprised you didn't just let me fall from the tree, Avery. He said with a crooked smile. This drug thing I have going...I didn't think you were ever going to come back to me. Even in the situation I put you in. He said, looking away from her eyes, feeling ashamed of his past actions.

She was squirming slightly, to where she was simply laying beside him, shoulder to shoulder. She found the position mildly amusing, considering if he even slightly turned his head, lucky boy, she'd be right there - which was exactly why she was doing it. He was fortunate she wasn't feeling much of anything emotionally right now, or his words could've easily come off as being an insult. All she could recognize of her feelings was an elated, delighted high, though what his vocals contained stung her."You really think I'd just forget about you?" she turned her face to stare at the sky, a creased look of worry furrowing her eyebrows. She didn't come off as considerate enough? Caring enough for him? Then he had another thing coming. "You really think I just..don't care enough, Tanner?" she shifted onto her elbow, staring down at him with a feigned expression of hate, that automatically melted into adoration when she caught sight of his eyes. She was infatuated with him. "Do I need to prove to you how much I love you, Tanner?" now she was simply teasing him, her voice containing a quite charming tone as she rested her lips upon his jaw, eyes scanning his face for any flicker of being uncomfortable. She'd back off instantly, he wouldn't have to ask her even once.

The words he spoke were not meant to come off as an insult. He should've reworded before he spoke, knowing that Avery's emotions were crazy no matter what. What was she talking about? Proof? He really didn't need proof, but he'd let her do whatever she wanted. Tanner wasn't uncomfortable...just interested. He smiled at her beautiful face. Hmm..I really don't need proof. I know you love me, Avery. I felt like I needed to talk about it...with the way I treated you in all. He told her, half teasing back. He put his hands behind his head and raised a brow at her, waiting for her next move. He looked incredibly at ease, even though he wasn't. He was so happy and enamored with her, that he couldn't be still. His fingers tapped the creased grass and he just laid there, ready for whatever she was going to do next.

It was amazing she wasn't a blonde at times, and this was one of them. She'd arched her eyebrows, shrugging as she pulled back, eyes wandering off of his figure and instead to the nearest tree, seeming to beckon to them with it's waving motion. "Hmm, well. You don't. I forgive you," she'd seen his response as more of a 'leave me alone, I'm not in the mood' sort of thing, and she took it in stride, flopping back into the grass. Her freezing fingers were constricted around his hand still, but nothing more, instead taking in the serene appearance of the sky. For once, there were no clouds to block out the sun that constantly fought to shine through, so she couldn't really make any comments on it. It was going to take her two seconds to get bored with this view, no doubt, but for now, she was playing follow the leader. He was clearly the leader, and what he decided to do, she'd obey. If he wanted to sit here and stare - she'd do it as well, even if she was itching to go galloping through the forest and see how many scrapes she could get on her face from falling down.

He sighed in disappointment. Good job, Tanner. He could be a dumbass at times. Why didn't he already know that Avery took a lot of things seriously. Tanner wasn't sure if he'd regret doing this...But, he shifted his body to where he was laying on top of her, using his elbows for support to where he didn't crush her under his weight. He kissed her lips lovingly, his heart rate beginning to jump to speeds of a cheetah. Tanner was ready to flinch at any time if she pushed him away or had any feeling of uncomfort. He liked this, but didn't know if she was ready to get that close. Tanner really wasn't the kid to get intimate. He wasn't into the whole sex scene. He thought that people who did that before marriage were pathetic and indecent. He really hoped she'd realized that by now.

"Oh, uhm..OK," one thing was probably easy for him to grasp, she had no idea in hell how to handle a situation like this. Obviously, he didn't need to worry about the sex thing, since she wasn't even moving. She was just staring at him, eyes darting occasionally off of his face to stare at the trees waving past his head. Truth was, she was simply surprised, though that didn't downplay how much she enjoyed it. She just didn't know how to react in a manner that would suit the moment. She managed to return one of his kisses at one point, though this was a bit of a blur to her. She'd never been slightly close to a boy before, and it was slightly frightening to her, her pulse hammering crazily as she was squashed into the grass. The tips of her lips were rising up into a crooked smile, attempting to calm herself down. She didn't need to take this so seriously.

Tanner felt her body suddenly tense and he immidiately backed up. He raised his body off of her's and layed back down next to her, never once looking at her. I'm...Soooo...sorry. He stammered slowly, feeling completely awkward. He knew he would definately regret this, so why did he do it? He bit his bottom lip, toying with the few stitched that embedded themselves into his lip. Ok, so this was great. He'd already come off as a sex-loving faggot. Though he wasn't. Tanner closed his eyes and thought back to before he got to close, trying to calm himself down. It's not like she was going to hate him...

"Uh-uh," she was terribly hard to understand and figure out at times, wasn't she? Now she was acting disappointed that he'd backed off, though it was obvious why he had. Couldn't she just calm down and act normal with him? She grumbled something at herself, eventually shifting to where she was sitting on his stomach, legs straddling his abdomen. "Don't be sorry, I'm just claustrophobic," her smile wasn't fake, nor was the light dancing in her eyes. Obviously, it hadn't put any ideas into her head or fear into her heart, and she didn't want him to think he had. Besides, this was just a tad more comfortable, instead of the position they had been in. That was just a bit too close for her to handle. "Never, ever be sorry," she added, sighing as she puffed some hair out of her face. "You're too good to be sorry," - and she spoke like that was obvious.

It was like a slap in the face. A girl telling you that you were too close..even though those weren't her exact words. He smiled lightly, his eyes kept darting away from her face. The awkwardness had settled upon him like a dirty fog. A groaned silently, not saying a word. How could he be so foolish. She obviously wasn't mad or uncomfortable. He just felt incredibly bad for doing just a sudden thing so early in their relationship. Tanner wasn't one for thinking before acting. Obviously. Look at his face!

Mood swing. Her smile was gone, as if it had never been spread across her face like someone had stapled it there. She was on her feet in a surprisingly swift movement, a furious growl erupting from her throat as she stabbed a toe into the ground. "Why do I always mess things UP?!" she screamed, eyes already flooded with tears as she stared at him, a few yards away in the grass. Rejecting him, how brilliant. She couldn't do anything right, could she? She didn't want him to think she didn't enjoy whatever she had the privilege of being given from him, though she couldn't stop herself from making it seem that way. This would probably only make it worse, the sudden shift in her emotions, but she couldn't stop herself there either. It had just happened. The calm aura of the meadow was gone, instead seeming to boil down to the furious girl stomping there.

He jumped as she suddenly removed herself from his premises. He stood up shortly after she did, raising his brows in utter surprise. No, Avery! He said loudly, trying to talk over her mindless self batter. You didn't mess anything up! I was just trying to get out of the awkward situation! He yelled angrily. Ok. So now his anger was flooding his body. Obviously, it didn't take much for him to get mad. Freaking great. He was afraid to touch her, afraid that anything he did or said would trigger something else to happen. Tanner took a deep breath, taking in the moment. What was happening? He wasn't ok. He didn't dare speak. Even if he tried, nothing would come out. Good Job, Tanner. You're really redeeming yourself as the responsible relationship person.

Apparently, her idea of getting dramatically, insanely angry at herself had nothing to do with him, since she was using him as something to make him feel better. She had him smothered in a hug the second she heard his voice, shutting her eyes to block out the tears that were pressing against her eyelids. Yeah, talk about awkward. He'd probably thought she was angry at him somehow, but she wasn't even close. That didn't seem possible for her anymore, it was like everything he did was perfect, though she should know better. Nobody was perfect, and she was definintely an example of that, clinging to him as she stood there. She was on the verge of hyperventilating, eyes overflowing with tears, totally beyond her control. She was taking this so much more seriously than she probably came off - this was the most important thing she'd ever been faced with, their relationship. She had to handle it well.

Tanner wrapped his long arms around her, holding her close to his body. He didn't speak, he just gently ran his fingers over her back, trying to calm her down. Please don't cry. He whispered after a few moments. Was this really going to work out? He wasn't sure anymore. It seemed like everytime they were together, something would happen and they would both break under pressure. A sigh was released from his lungs as his anger drifted from his body. He was calm now, but he wasn't to sure about miss Avery. Tanner didn't have anything to say after that. It was like he wanted to talk, but no words came to mind. He wasn't sure if he was ready for this anymore.

The thing that terrified her was the fact she couldn't calm down. The thoughts that were suffocating her, she'd forbidden to enter her mind since he'd leapt into her room and decided to apologize earlier, yet she couldn't manage to escape them now. "I won't," she squeaked, face pressed into his shoulder as she kept her eyes clamped shut, nice and tight. All it held in was the horrid ideas and images she'd imagined, a few tears breaking the barrier of her eyelids as she stood there helplessly. She was frightened of what was going through his mind right now. Truthfully, she didn't offer him anything. She couldn't take even the slightest bit of pressure, it seemed, and if she was faced with something out of the norm, she just broke. It was ridiculous - and she knew all too well that he might be thinking the same thing, or something along those lines. She was squeezing herself so close to him it probably hurt, but she didn't notice. How long would she be allowed to do this? She had to grasp the moment and appreciate it while she could.
